Fashion drawings from the 1920’s and 1930’s

I have been always interested in fashion illustrations from the 1920’s and 1930’s. I find the style used for these drawings to have a certain simplicity and elegance. The plain background combined with a slender model, graceful pose and the fashion of the period create a combination that is very appealing to me.

The images have usually a plain background which allows the models to stand out. The lines used to draw the figures are very clean which aligns with the simple and straight forward style of the clothes. The stretched out figures make the illustrations more flattering.

I used this kind of image for one of my cards for Assignement 1.
